The Ultimate Steak Experience
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs New York Strip Steaks (2 steaks) or Ribeye or Top Sirloin Steaks (1 lb each steak, 1 1/4” thick)
- 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil or any high heat cooking oil like canola or extra light olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered
- 1 sprig of fresh rosemary
Directions:
- Begin by allowing your steaks to reach room temperature before cooking, approximately 30 minutes for thin steaks and about an hour for thicker cuts.
- Opt for a robust, heavy pan, ideally a Cast Iron skillet or ST grill.
- Ensure the pan is well-oiled AFTER it reaches a high heat (medium-high).
- Liberally season both sides of your steak. Popular brands like McCormick, Weber, and Steakhouse offer excellent seasoning options available at your local grocery store.
- Once your steak is placed in the pan, resist the urge to touch or turn them for at least 3-4 minutes until a satisfying sear develops. Flip the steaks and allow them to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
- For thicker steaks, consider finishing them in a preheated oven set to 375°F, ranging from 5 to 10 minutes for a medium to medium-well doneness.
Elevate your dining experience with the perfect seared steak, adorned with the rich flavors of garlic and rosemary.
