The Ultimate Steak Experience

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs New York Strip Steaks (2 steaks) or Ribeye or Top Sirloin Steaks (1 lb each steak, 1 1/4” thick)
  • 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil or any high heat cooking oil like canola or extra light olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered
  • 1 sprig of fresh rosemary

Directions:

  1. Begin by allowing your steaks to reach room temperature before cooking, approximately 30 minutes for thin steaks and about an hour for thicker cuts.
  2. Opt for a robust, heavy pan, ideally a Cast Iron skillet or ST grill.
  3. Ensure the pan is well-oiled AFTER it reaches a high heat (medium-high).
  4. Liberally season both sides of your steak. Popular brands like McCormick, Weber, and Steakhouse offer excellent seasoning options available at your local grocery store.
  5. Once your steak is placed in the pan, resist the urge to touch or turn them for at least 3-4 minutes until a satisfying sear develops. Flip the steaks and allow them to cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
  6. For thicker steaks, consider finishing them in a preheated oven set to 375°F, ranging from 5 to 10 minutes for a medium to medium-well doneness.
