The Classic Custard Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked pie shell (preferably Marie Callender’s deep dish)
- 3 large eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2-2/3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Gently beat the eggs and then incorporate sugar, salt, nutmeg, and milk. Mix thoroughly and pour the mixture into the unbaked pie shell.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the pie sets.
- Remove from the oven and allow it to cool.
- Sprinkle the top of the pie with freshly ground nutmeg.
- Serve and enjoy your delightful Old Fashioned Custard Pie.
