Succulent Garlic Steak & Potato Foil Packets
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds of lean sirloin steak, trimmed and cut into 2-inch chunks
- 1 pound of baby yellow potatoes, quartered or halved according to preference
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic (adjust to taste)
- 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning (or a blend of dried oregano, thyme, and parsley)
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) for even cooking of these tantalizing foil packets.
- Mixing and Marinating: In a generously-sized mixing bowl, combine the lean sirloin steak chunks, baby yellow potatoes, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, onion powder, olive oil, salt, and freshly ground pepper. Toss the ingredients gently until they are thoroughly coated with the aromatic seasonings.
- Prepare Foil Packets: Tear off large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Divide the steak and potato mixture evenly among the foil sheets, placing each portion in the center. Fold the foil over the ingredients, crimping the edges tightly to seal the packets.
- Cooking Options: Place the foil packets directly on the grill over medium-high heat or on a baking sheet in the preheated oven. Grill for 10-12 minutes or bake for 20-25 minutes, until the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness and the potatoes are tender.
- Serve and Enjoy: Carefully open the foil packets, being mindful of the hot steam that will escape. Transfer the contents to plates or serve directly from the foil for easy cleanup. Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and enjoy your succulent garlic steak and potato foil packets!
