Steamed Jam Pudding Recipe

Steamed Jam Pudding

Delight your taste buds with this Steamed Jam Pudding. A warm and comforting dessert that’s easy to make and
perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 1⁄4 cup jam (of your choice)
  • 125g butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1⁄2 cup caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1⁄2 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Grease a pudding steamer or basin (8 cup capacity).
  2. Spoon jam into the base of the steamer.
  3. Beat butter, essence, and sugar in a small bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs
    one at a time, beat until combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl, stir in sifted flour and milk in 2 batches.
  5. Spread the mixture into the steamer, cover with greased foil, secure with string or lid.
  6. Place the steamer in a large saucepan with enough boiling water to come halfway up the side of the
    steamer; boil, covered, about 1 1/2 hours or until firm. Replenish water as necessary.
  7. When cooked, run a knife around the edge and then invert carefully onto a large plate. The jam will spill
    over the entire pudding and look very pretty.
  8. Slice and serve with custard, cream, or ice-cream. Enjoy!
