Professional Vanilla Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 500g butter or margarine
  • 350g granulated sugar
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 10 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • Milk (optional)
  • Preservative (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preparing the Batter

  1. Preheat the oven to the desired temperature.
  2. Measure out all the ingredients.
  3. In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and ground nutmeg. Set aside.
  4. Crack the eggs into a separate bowl and beat them. Add the vanilla extract to the beaten eggs.
  5. Prepare the baking pans by greasing them with baking spray, butter, or shortening, and dusting them with flour.

Step 2: Mixing the Batter

  1. Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a hand mixer, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 30-45 minutes.
  2. Gradually add the beaten eggs and the sifted flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar. Alternate between adding the eggs and flour in three parts, starting and ending with the eggs. Mix until just incorporated after each addition.
  3. Continue mixing until all the eggs and flour are fully incorporated into the batter. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. The batter should have a dropping consistency; it should easily fall from a spoon but not be runny.

Step 3: Baking the Cake

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pans, distributing it evenly.
  2. Bake the cakes in the middle rack of the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for about 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer the cakes to a cooling rack to cool completely before frosting or serving.
