Perfect Yorkshire Puddings Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- ¾ cup of milk
- 6 teaspoons of lard or vegetable oil
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of pepper
Instructions:
- In a small bowl with a pour spout, combine the flour and eggs. Gradually add the milk while whisking until the mixture is just combined. It’s okay if there are small lumps in the batter.
- Refrigerate the batter for at least 30 minutes, or preferably overnight.
- When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) and add ½ teaspoon of oil or lard to each hole of a 12-count muffin tin.
- Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the oil or lard is sizzling hot.
- Meanwhile, remove the batter from the fridge and stir in the salt and pepper.
- Working quickly, remove the hot muffin tin from the oven and pour the batter evenly into each hole. Be careful as the tin and oil will be very hot. Return the pan to the oven immediately.
- Bake the puddings for 16-18 minutes, or until they are puffy and golden brown.
