Perfect Air-Fried Chicken Wings
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds (about 900g) chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Cooking spray (optional, for the air fryer basket)
Instructions:
- Prep the Chicken Wings:
- Thoroughly wash and dry the chicken wings with paper towels for crispy skin.
- Optionally, trim any excess fat or skin.
- Season the Wings:
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create a seasoning blend.
- Coat the Chicken Wings:
- Toss the chicken wings in the seasoning mixture until evenly coated.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. Some models may not require preheating.
- Arrange the Wings:
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or use parchment paper/silicone liner for easier cleanup.
- Arrange the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each wing for proper air circulation.
- Cook the Wings:
- Air fry the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking. Adjust time as needed based on wing size and air fryer model.
- Check for Doneness:
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature of the wings reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Serve:
- Once crispy and cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces such as buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing.
Notes:
- Monitor cooking times as air fryers can vary.
- Customize seasoning to taste, adjusting spice levels or trying different flavors.
- For large batches, cook wings in batches for even crispiness.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for optimal crispiness.
- Follow specific air fryer instructions for best results.
