Oven-Roasted Chicken Delight
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken
- 1/2 onion (optional)
- 3 garlic cloves
- 50 grams of butter
- 1/2 glass of white wine
- 1/2 glass of chicken broth
- 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon Herbes de Provence
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
- Olive oil
- Ground black pepper
- Salt
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
- While the oven is warming up, generously drizzle oil in the baking tray, brush it evenly, and finely spread the
chopped onion on the tray. - In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, Herbes de Provence, and softened butter. Coat the entire chicken with this
mixture to enhance its flavor, then place it on the bed of onions for a rich taste. - Peel and halve the garlic cloves, removing the centers, and arrange them on the chicken.
- Squeeze one half of the lemon onto the chicken meat, and cut the other half into two pieces, placing them on the
tray for added flavor during baking. - Mix white wine and chicken broth, pour half of the mixture into the chicken tray. Bake in the preheated oven for
approximately 50 minutes, checking periodically based on the chicken’s size. - Occasionally baste the chicken with the remaining wine and broth to prevent it from drying out. For a crispy skin,
broil for 5 to 10 minutes at the end. - If you prefer a thicker sauce, combine the pan juices in a saucepan over medium heat with a bit of cornstarch,
stirring until fully dissolved. Serve and enjoy!
