Dry Rub:
- 4 pressed garlic cloves
- 4 Tbsp dark brown sugar
- 4 tsp kosher salt
- 2 Tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Prepare the Ribs:
- Remove the silver skin from the back of the rib racks, ensuring a tender outcome.
- Cut the racks into two-rib sections for a neat and presentable result.
- Apply Dry Rub and Garlic:
- Coat the meaty side of the rib rack with the dry rub.
- Optionally, moisten the ribs with vegetable oil or yellow mustard for better seasoning adhesion.
- Preparation for Baking:
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet or dish, covering with foil.
- Ensure the baking container has at least 1-inch high walls to contain released juices.
- Pre-Baking:
- Allow the ribs to sit at room temperature for an hour if time permits.
- For enhanced flavor, marinate the ribs overnight in the fridge.
- Baking Method (3-300-30):
- Preheat the oven and bake the ribs covered at 300F for exactly 3 hours.
- After 3 hours, carefully remove the ribs, pour excess juices, and liberally apply BBQ sauce.
- Return the uncovered ribs to the oven for an additional 30 minutes at 300F.
- Final Touch:
- Check if the sauce has set and adhered to the ribs; adjust baking time if needed.
- Once done, remove the ribs from the oven, and savor the delightful result with your preferred side dish.
