Lime Mousse Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
- Zest of 2 limes
- 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
- 1/4 cup cold water
- Optional: additional lime zest for garnish
Preparation
1. Prepare the Gelatin:
- In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
- Microwave the bloomed gelatin for about 10-15 seconds until completely dissolved.
2. Blend the Ingredients:
- In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, freshly squeezed lime juice, lime zest, and the dissolved gelatin.
- Blend until smooth and well combined.
3. Chill the Mousse:
- Pour the mixture into serving glasses or a large bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set and firm.
4. Serve:
- Before serving, garnish with additional lime zest if desired.
