Irresistible Cinna-Bun Cake Recipe
Craving the comforting aroma of my mom’s cinnamon buns led me to create a delectable alternative – the Cinna-Bun Cake, affectionately named by our two-year-old as Cinabun Cake.
Ingredients:
Base:
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Topping:
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
- Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare a 9-inch x 13-inch baking pan by either spraying with non-stick cooking oil or coating with butter.
- Base Creation:
- In a large bowl, thoroughly combine all base ingredients (excluding melted butter).
- Add the melted butter last and pour the mixture into the prepared pan; set aside.
- Topping Preparation:
- In a small bowl, mix all topping ingredients well to achieve a consistent blend.
- Assembly for Baking:
- Drop spoonfuls of the topping evenly over the base.
- Swirl the topping into the base using a butter knife.
- Place the pan into the preheated oven and bake for 28-30 minutes.
- Glaze Creation and Application:
- While the cake bakes, mix the glaze ingredients in a small bowl until fully combined; set aside.
- Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and glaze it while still warm.
