Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in the boiling water; the batter will be thin, which is normal.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
