Indulge in the Flavors of These Irresistible Garlic Flatbreads!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour, with extra for dusting
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 3/4 cup of water
- 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 4 cloves of garlic, finely minced
- Freshly chopped parsley for garnish
- Additional salt to taste
Preparation:
- Start by combining the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Gradually incorporate water into the mixture until it forms a soft dough.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into four equal parts and roll each into thin rounds, approximately 1/8 inch thick.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for 1-2 minutes on one side until bubbles form, then flip and cook the other side for an additional minute. Stack the cooked flatbreads and keep them warm by wrapping them in a clean towel.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Generously brush the garlic butter over each flatbread.
- Sprinkle chopped parsley and a pinch of salt over the flatbreads before serving.
Variations & Tips:
- For a gourmet twist, sprinkle grated Parmesan or Asiago cheese over the flatbreads after brushing them with garlic butter.
- Substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour for a nuttier flavor.
- Short on time? Use store-bought pizza dough as a quick alternative. Roll it out thin and follow the cooking instructions as usual.
- Add a kick of spice by sprinkling red pepper flakes over the garlic butter for a fiery version.
- Best served fresh, but if reheating is necessary, wrap the flatbreads in foil and warm them in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes until heated through. Enjoy every delectable bite!
