Ingredients:

  • 1 prepared angel food cake
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant cheesecake pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pack (30 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 container (8 ounces) cold whipped cream
  • 1 tablespoon roasted almond slices (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  3. In a 13×9 baking dish, place half of the cake cubes at the bottom of the pan. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling on top of the cake.
  4. Repeat the cake layer and pour the prepared pudding evenly over the surface.
  5. Spoon the cold whipped cream over the pudding layer and top with the remaining cherry pie filling.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours or until set.
  7. Sprinkle the optional roasted almond slices on top just before serving.
