Grandma’s Homemade Cake 🍰

Ingredients:

  • 3 large or 4 medium eggs
  • 1 lemon-flavored yogurt
  • Sugar (2 measures of yogurt)
  • Flour (3 measures of yogurt)
  • Sunflower oil or olive oil (1 measure of yogurt)
  • 1 sachet of baking powder (16g)
  • Lemon zest
  • Butter and flour (for greasing the mold)
  • Icing sugar for decoration (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs. Add sugar, yogurt, sunflower oil, and lemon zest (avoiding the white part to prevent bitterness).
  3. In another bowl, combine flour with baking powder. Add this mixture to the egg mixture and beat until smooth.
  4. Grease a cake mold with butter, sprinkle with flour, and remove excess flour by shaking the mold.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared mold. For optimal rising, let the batter rest for 15 minutes before baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (baking time varies depending on the oven).
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool. Use a knife to loosen the edges of the cake and unmold it.
  8. Optionally, dust the cake with icing sugar for decoration. Enjoy your homemade delight!
