Exquisite Hawaiian Garlic Butter Shrimp Scampi

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, shell on, deveined
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 head of garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1-2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 lemon, sliced or wedged for serving

Directions:

  1. Ensure the shrimp are deveined. In a dish, combine flour, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Coat the shrimp with the flour mixture, shaking off excess. (Some flour will remain.)
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add butter and chopped garlic. Cook for a minute or two until the garlic becomes aromatic.
  3. Lay the shrimp in a single layer in the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side.
  4. Pour in the white wine and add sea salt. Cook for another minute or two until the flavors meld.
  5. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the shrimp for a burst of citrusy freshness.
