Dorito Taco Salad
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup fresh lettuce, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup black olives, halved
- 1 can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 cup cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup Nacho Doritos, crushed
- 10 ounces Catalina salad dressing
- Sour cream (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef: In a skillet, cook the ground beef until it is browned. Drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and water, and simmer for 5 minutes. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Salad: In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, red and green bell peppers, black olives, pinto beans, tomato, green onions, and cheese. Mix gently to ensure the ingredients are well combined.
- Assemble the Salad: Just before serving, add the crushed Nacho Doritos to the salad mixture. Drizzle with Catalina dressing and toss lightly to coat.
