Delicious Taco Ring Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 1 medium bell pepper
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 3 cups lettuce, shredded
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1⁄4 cup onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1⁄2 cup pitted ripe black olives (optional)
  • Sour cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat for 7-9 minutes or until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  2. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in taco seasoning mix, shredded cheese, and water.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  5. Arrange the triangles in a circle on a baking stone or a flat round pan, with wide ends overlapping in the center and points facing outward. Leave a 5-inch diameter opening in the center.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture evenly onto the widest end of each triangle. Fold the pointed ends of the triangles over the filling and tuck under the wide ends of the dough at the center of the ring. The filling will not be completely covered.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While the Taco Ring is baking, shred the lettuce and chop the tomato, onion, olives, and bell pepper if using.
  9. For an extra touch, hollow out a bell pepper and fill it with salsa, then place it in the center of the ring.
  10. Once the Taco Ring is done baking, top it with the prepared vegetables and optional toppings like additional shredded cheese and sour cream.
  11. Serve alongside a fresh salad for a delightful meal experience.
