Delicious Country-Style Apple Fritter Bread 😋😋
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 apples, peeled and chopped (any variety), mixed with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon {I grated the apples for a quicker prep}
Old-Fashioned Creme Glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1-3 tablespoons milk or cream (depending on desired glaze thickness)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by either spraying it with non-stick spray or lining it with foil and spraying for easy slicing later.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside.
- In another medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer to beat white sugar and softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, blending well; then incorporate vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Mix in milk until the batter is smooth.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan; add half of the apples and half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
- Lightly pat the apple mixture into the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer and top with the remaining apples and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Gently pat the apples into the batter and swirl the brown sugar mixture through the apples using a knife or spoon.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk or cream until well combined. Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before drizzling it over the bread.
- Enjoy your delectable Country-Style Apple Fritter Bread!
