Delicate Sweet Bread

Ingredients:

  • 325g (2 5 ⁄8 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 120 ml (1 ⁄2 cup) warm milk
  • 30g (2 tablespoons) granulated sugar
  • 2g (1 teaspoon) salt
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 25g (2 tablespoons) unsalted butter

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together hot milk, sugar, egg, and yeast.
  2. Combine salt with flour, then add to the liquid mixture.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Incorporate the soft butter into the dough.
  5. Allow the dough to rest for an additional 30 minutes, then cut into pieces and shape each into a roll.
  6. Roll the dough into cigars and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Let it rest for an hour, then brush with egg wash before baking.
  8. Bake at 160C/320F for 20 minutes.
