Delectable Fresh Apple Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 and ¾ cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped apple
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt. Stir in old-fashioned rolled oats and set aside.
- Using a mixer, beat together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 1 to 2 minutes until well combined.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla extract, then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped apple until it is evenly distributed in the cookie dough.
- Using a tablespoon cookie scoop, place balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the tops of the cookies are done.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
