Ingredients:

For the Brownies:

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

For the Frosting:

  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Preheat your oven to 350˚F. Line a 9”x9” baking pan with foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
  2. Making the Brownie Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and melted butter until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually sift in the flour and cocoa powder, ensuring a uniform consistency. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Baking: Bake the brownies for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake, as this can affect the texture.
  5. Preparing the Frosting: While the brownies cool, prepare the frosting. In a separate bowl, combine the softened butter, milk, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
  6. Frosting the Brownies: Once the brownies have cooled slightly, spread the frosting evenly over the top. Allow the frosting to set before slicing.
