Crispy Golden Fried Chicken 😍
Ingredients:
- 8 chicken pieces (legs, thighs, breasts)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken pieces, making sure they’re fully submerged. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
- In a large, shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry chicken in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, for about 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Place fried chicken on a wire rack over a baking sheet to drain excess oil.
