Air-Fryer Pork Belly Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 400 grams pork belly, sliced into about 0.8-1cm thick long pieces
  • 3 shallots
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 lemongrass (only white parts)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon five spice powder
  • 1 1⁄2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1⁄2 tablespoon annatto oil
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine shallots, garlic cloves, lemongrass (white parts only), honey, five spice powder, sugar, annatto oil, fish sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and sesame seeds. Pulse until smooth or almost smooth.
  2. Place the pork belly slices in a mixing bowl and pour in the blended marinade sauce. Massage the meat until it is well-coated.
  3. Preheat the air-fryer to 200°C.
  4. Once the air-fryer is preheated, place the marinated pork belly slices in the basket of the air-fryer. Cook at 200°C for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, remove the basket from the air-fryer and flip the pork slices. Return the basket to the air-fryer and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes at 200°C, until the pork is crispy and golden brown.
  6. Slice the pork belly and serve with your favorite grilled meat sauce. Enjoy dipping it into hot sauce or Korean Ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) for an extra burst of flavor. You’ll love it!
