A Delectable Recipe: Cheese Bread That’s Not Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 large baguette
- 7 oz (200 grams) of crumbled Feta cheese
- 3.5 oz (100 grams) of pitted black olives, halved
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of dried oregano
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 3.5 oz (100 grams) of cherry tomatoes, halved
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 356°F (180°C) and allow it to preheat.
- Prepare the Baguette: Cut the baguette in half lengthwise and place the pieces on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Add the Cheese: Evenly spread the crumbled Feta cheese over the baguette halves.
- Layer the Vegetables: Arrange the thinly sliced tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, red onion, and halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese.
- Include the Olives: Scatter the halved black olives over the vegetable layer.
- Seasoning: Drizzle with red wine vinegar, sprinkle with dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
