Candied Bacon Crackers

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of rectangular butter crackers
  • 8-10 slices of bacon
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • A pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top.
  3. Arrange the crackers on the wire rack, ensuring there is some space between each cracker.
  4. Cut the bacon slices into thirds or fourths, depending on what size fits the crackers best. Place a piece of bacon lengthwise on each cracker.
  5. Sprinkle about one heaping teaspoon of brown sugar on top of each slice of bacon. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper and freshly ground black pepper to each.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the brown sugar begins to melt and the bacon becomes crisp, about 15-20 minutes.
  7. Allow the crackers to cool and harden before serving. Enjoy your candied bacon crackers!
