Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 dozen eggs
- 2 dozen medium-sized fresh shrimp
- 1 tsp cooking oil
- 1/2 small lemon
- 2-3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2-1 tbsp hot sauce (adjust based on spice preference)
- 1 tbsp sweet relish
- 1-2 tsp Old Bay seasoning + 2 tsp (for Cajun shrimp)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp fresh chopped dill + 2 tsp (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Perfect Boiled Eggs
- Place the eggs gently in a shallow pot.
- Fill the pot with water, ensuring the eggs are fully submerged.
- Bring the water to a boil, then turn off the heat and cover the pot for 15-20 minutes.
Cajun Egg Filling
- Peel the eggs and slice them in half.
- Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a medium-sized bowl. Lay the egg whites on paper towels to dry.
- Add mayonnaise to the bowl with the yolks. Incorporate the remaining ingredients (hot sauce, sweet relish, Old Bay seasoning, and garlic powder) one at a time, tasting and adjusting the flavor as desired.
- Mix until the yolk mixture is smooth and creamy. Cover and set aside.
Cajun Shrimp
- Heat a medium-sized pan over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil.
- Pat the shrimp dry with a paper towel. Coat the shrimp evenly with Old Bay seasoning.
- Sauté the shrimp until cooked through or slightly charred. Halfway through cooking, add about 1 tsp of lemon juice to the shrimp.
Plating Cajun Shrimp Deviled Eggs
- Spoon the yolk mixture evenly into the egg white halves.
- Top each egg half with one Cajun shrimp.
- Garnish with paprika and fresh dill. Serve and enjoy!
