Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 4 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 ounces of fresh or dried blueberries

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/8 cup of water
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold milk and blueberries to the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
  4. Prior to baking, place one stick of butter in the freezer for approximately one hour.
  5. Remove the butter from the freezer and cut it into small chunks.
  6. Distribute the frozen butter evenly over the biscuit dough, folding and kneading until well incorporated.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 to 1/8 inches thick.
  8. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out approximately 6 biscuits from the dough.
  9. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 7 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. While the biscuits are baking, melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the microwave and brush it over the hot biscuits once they’re out of the oven.
  11. In a small bowl, mix together the powdered sugar, water, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and honey to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits and serve immediately.
