Apple Slices Covered with Apple Crust
Ingredients:
For the Shortcrust Pastry:
- 180 g wheat flour
- 3 medium eggs
- 200 ml milk
- 2 sachets vanilla sugar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3-4 medium-sized apples
- Butter and/or oil for cooking
Preparation:
Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, vanilla sugar, regular sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Let the dough rest for 5-10 minutes.
Prepare the Apples:
- While the dough rests, peel the apples and cut them into medium-thick slices.
- Remove the core from each slice.
Cooking:
- Heat a non-stick pan and add a small amount of butter or oil.
- Dip each apple slice into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.
- Place the battered apple slices into the pan.
- Cook over medium heat, turning them until both sides are golden brown.
- Remove the apple slices from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving:
Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon sugar or icing sugar before serving for added sweetness and flavor.
