Apple Slices Covered with Apple Crust

Ingredients:

For the Shortcrust Pastry:

  • 180 g wheat flour
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 200 ml milk
  • 2 sachets vanilla sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3-4 medium-sized apples
  • Butter and/or oil for cooking

Preparation:

Prepare the Dough:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, eggs, milk, vanilla sugar, regular sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rest for 5-10 minutes.

Prepare the Apples:

  1. While the dough rests, peel the apples and cut them into medium-thick slices.
  2. Remove the core from each slice.

Cooking:

  1. Heat a non-stick pan and add a small amount of butter or oil.
  2. Dip each apple slice into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off.
  3. Place the battered apple slices into the pan.
  4. Cook over medium heat, turning them until both sides are golden brown.
  5. Remove the apple slices from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Serving:

Sprinkle the apple slices with cinnamon sugar or icing sugar before serving for added sweetness and flavor.
