A Delectable Recipe: Cheese Bread That’s Not Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large baguette
  • 7 oz (200 grams) of crumbled Feta cheese
  • 3.5 oz (100 grams) of pitted black olives, halved
  • 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons of dried oregano
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 3.5 oz (100 grams) of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Directions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 356°F (180°C) and allow it to preheat.
  2. Prepare the Baguette: Cut the baguette in half lengthwise and place the pieces on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Add the Cheese: Evenly spread the crumbled Feta cheese over the baguette halves.
  4. Layer the Vegetables: Arrange the thinly sliced tomatoes, red and green bell peppers, red onion, and halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese.
  5. Include the Olives: Scatter the halved black olives over the vegetable layer.
  6. Seasoning: Drizzle with red wine vinegar, sprinkle with dried oregano, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Once out of the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
