Ingredients:

For the Chaffles:

  • 1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burger:

  • 4 lean ground turkey or beef patties
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Sugar-free or reduced sugar mustard and ketchup (for Weight Watchers)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Waffle Maker: Preheat your mini waffle maker.
  2. Prepare Chaffle Batter: In a bowl, thoroughly mix shredded mozzarella, eggs, almond flour, baking powder, optional garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Cook the Chaffles:
    • Lightly grease the waffle maker.
    • Spoon a portion of the batter onto the center of the waffle maker and close the lid.
    • Cook until golden brown and firm to the touch. Repeat for the remaining batter.
  4. Cook the Burger Patties:
    • Season turkey or beef patties with salt and pepper.
    • Grill or cook the patties in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
  5. Assemble the Chaffle Burgers:
    • Place a chaffle on a plate, add a lettuce leaf, a burger patty, tomato slices, and pickles.
    • Top with another chaffle to form a burger.
  6. Serve: Serve the chaffle burgers with mustard and ketchup on the side.
