Perfectly Air-Fried Roast Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 medium-sized potatoes (e.g., Russet or Yukon Gold)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or parsley) for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by washing and peeling the potatoes, if desired, then proceed to cut them into bite-sized pieces. Ensuring uniformity in size is crucial for even cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, place the potato pieces and drizzle them with olive oil. Add salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings, such as garlic powder and paprika.
  3. Toss the potatoes in the bowl until they are thoroughly coated with the oil and seasonings.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375-400°F (190-200°C).
  5. Once the air fryer is preheated, arrange the seasoned potato pieces in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches to prevent overcrowding.
  6. Cook the potatoes in the air fryer for approximately 15-20 minutes, shaking or tossing them every 5-10 minutes to ensure uniform cooking. Cooking time may vary based on the size and type of your air fryer, so monitor them closely.
  7. The potatoes are done when they turn golden brown and develop a crispy exterior while remaining tender inside. To check for doneness, insert a fork or knife into a potato piece to ensure it’s soft inside.
  8. Once cooked, transfer the air-fried potatoes to a serving dish. For an extra touch, garnish them with fresh herbs like rosemary, thyme, or parsley.
  9. Serve the air fryer roast potatoes hot as a delightful side dish or pair them with your preferred dipping sauce for a delicious snack.
