Decadent Mother’s Signature Cake ❤️

Indulge in the irresistible charm of this exquisite cake, a delicacy that holds a special place in my heart. Once you take a bite, you’ll understand why my husband and I find ourselves unable to resist its allure, often devouring the entire confection within a day, though we occasionally manage to stretch it over two, if we’re crafty enough to keep it hidden from our eager children.

Ingredients:

  • 1 box Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup white wine (any variety works splendidly)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the Duncan Hines yellow cake mix, brown sugar, white sugar, instant vanilla pudding mix, cinnamon, eggs, water, oil, and white wine. Blend the ingredients together either by hand or with a hand mixer until smooth and well incorporated.
  3. Grease a bundt pan generously to prevent sticking.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, ensuring it spreads evenly.
  5. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately one hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. As the cake nears the end of its baking time, prepare the delectable glaze. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt one stick of butter. Once melted, stir in one cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of white wine until the sugar dissolves completely.
  7. Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the warm glaze over the hot cake, allowing it to seep into every crevice.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a short while before carefully flipping it out onto a serving plate.
  9. Serve and relish every blissful bite of this heavenly creation, savoring the delicate blend of flavors and the warmth of cherished memories it brings with each slice.
