Delicious Country-Style Apple Fritter Bread


Delicious Country-Style Apple Fritter Bread 😋😋

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped (any variety), mixed with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon {I grated the apples for a quicker prep}

Old-Fashioned Creme Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-3 tablespoons milk or cream (depending on desired glaze thickness)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by either spraying it with non-stick spray or lining it with foil and spraying for easy slicing later.
  2. In a bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together. Set aside.
  3. In another medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer to beat white sugar and softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, blending well; then incorporate vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Add this dry mixture to the creamed butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Mix in milk until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan; add half of the apples and half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
  7. Lightly pat the apple mixture into the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the apple layer and top with the remaining apples and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture. Gently pat the apples into the batter and swirl the brown sugar mixture through the apples using a knife or spoon.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar and milk or cream until well combined. Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before drizzling it over the bread.
